Permian Fauna Among the common groups during the Permian were the ammonoids, gastropods, crinoids (sea lilies), sharks, bony fish, fusulinid foraminifera. Others were blastoids, acanthodians, placoderms, pelycosaurs, bryozoans, brachiopods, echinoderms, ostracods and eurypterids.
