Permian Fauna

Among the common groups during the Permian were the ammonoids, gastropods, crinoids (sea lilies), sharks, bony fish, fusulinid foraminifera. Others were blastoids, acanthodians, placoderms, pelycosaurs, bryozoans, brachiopods, echinoderms, ostracods and eurypterids. Some rare forms were the corals, rugose and tabulate forms, and trilobites.
