The Peninsula Biogeograhical Region

As a whole, it is classified as a separate biogeographical region, the Peninsula Biogeographical Region, distinct from those to its south - the Gulf Plains, the Einasleigh Uplands and the Wet Tropics. The southern limit of the Cape is where the southern limit of forest formation of Stringybark (Eucalyptus tetrodonta).
